Geraldine Sue Beech

Geraldine Sue (Phillips) Beech, widow of William "Ed" Beech, passed quietly on the morning of September 11th, 2011 at her home in Charleston, SC.  Mrs. Beech was born in Flint, Michigan October 26, 1932 to Virgil Phillips and Gladys (Gwaltney) Owens.  She is survived by her three children: Alexander Stewart III, Laynette (Jim) Haas and Darryl (Julie) Beech; brother, Virgil E. Phillips Jr. residing in California; and sister, Mrs. Ruth (Nolan) Dearing of Beaufort SC.  Her daughter Barbara Jean (Stewart) Smithers preceded her in death.

She was a former Red Cross volunteer, active in many military family support groups, and was last employed by NWL in Beaufort SC.  She enjoyed travelling, league bowling, needlework, and spending time with her family. 

Per Mrs. Beech's wishes, services will be held at a later date when she is interred next to her husband in Alabama.  Donations in Mrs. Beech's are encouraged to be made to the Fairhope Baptist Church, (C/O Mr. Grady Beech, HC62, Box 731, Chatom Al 36518) in lieu of cards or flowers.
