Gerald Lee Johnson

Gerald Lee Johnson, Sr., 69, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of Betty M. "Linda" Johnson died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. His funeral service will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 3:00 pm. Interment with military honors to follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Jerry was born May 17, 1944 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Charlie W. Johnson and the late Edith Rentz Johnson. He served in the US Army and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a pipe fitter.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 25 years Linda, son Gerald Johnson Jr. and his wife Terri of FL, two daughters Adella R. Hyman of Summerville, SC and Leah W. Johnson of Goose Creek, SC, brother Charles Johnson and his wife Helen of Lexington, SC; sister Mary Carter and her husband Brad of Jonesboro GA; sister-in-law Pat Johnson and her son John R. "Ricky" Jr. of Goose Creek, SC; nine grandchildren: William R. Perkins IV, Christian A. Perkins, Aaron L. Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Sarah F. Johnson, Jordan L. Johnson, David "Alex" Hyman, Daniel M. Treadway, Zarkel E Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, son William R. Perkins III and brother John R. Johnson Sr.
