Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Rogers

Gerald "Jerry" Joseph Rogers, 68, of Meggett, SC, died on April 18, 2024.

He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Brian Rogers; his parents, Clark Leroy Rogers and Anne Zakrewski Rogers of North Charleston, SC.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Allston Rogers. A son, Shea Vincent Rogers (Jessica) of Goose Creek, SC. A daughter, Katlyn Allston Koester (Austin) of Greenville, SC. His brother, Don Rogers of Wake Forest, NC; and his sister Trish Rogers of Todd, NC.

Jerry lived most of his life in North Charleston. In 1973, he graduated from North Charleston High School and was a member of the tennis and basketball teams. Later, he earned a BS in Business Administration from the former Baptist College at Charleston. During college, he taught tennis on Kiawah Island and racquetball at the West Ashley Courts Club. He became an investment advisor and owned his own company for over 35 years. Some of his community service includes being a long-time President of the Board of Disabilities in Dorchester County. He and Dorothy coached the girls JV and Varsity volleyball teams for the Lowcountry Homeschool Association.

Along with his business and athletic interests, Jerry was a gifted guitar player and singer. He served on several church worship ministries.

Jerry was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a loyal friend. Those who knew him will remember his integrity, energetic personality, his quick wit, and sense of humor. Jerry's life, marriage, fatherhood, friendships, and integrity were all a reflection of his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC 29414, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 in Christ Church at Adams Run, Hwy 174 at 10:00 am.  Interment to follow in churchyard.
