Georgie Ann Duggins, 72, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Francis Robert Duggins, entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 2, 2016. Her memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
Georgie Ann was born March 3, 1943 in Johns Island, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lawrence M. Phillips and Doris Blumhe Phillips. She graduated from Murray Vocational high school and graduated from Trident Technical college as an RN. She worked at Roper St. Francis Hospital and retired with 32 years of service. She retired after 17 years with Macke Vending Cigarette Co. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and a friend. She had a heart that kept on giving. She was an inspiration to her daughters. They saw her never give up on a dream. She was a lung cancer survivor of 16 years. She loved to work with patients and enjoyed working and sharing her gifts. She had compassion and understanding. Her battle has been won, she is now in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Donna L. Clark (Neal), and Kimberly A. Burris (Ron); three sisters, Theresa Gallardo of Eutawville, SC, Kathleen Thomas (Ray) of Barnwell, SC, and Juliette Cook (Roland) of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Ricky Phillips (Sun) of Fayetteville, NC, and Calvin Phillips (Yvonne) of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren, Phillip F. Copeland, Logan J. (Kathy) Copeland, Kyle D. Meier, Veronica G. Burris, and Keaton E. Burris; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt D. Meier and Luci Ann Marie Meier. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence "Larry" Phillips.
