Georgianna Marguerite Rowston Hanagriff (Margie) was received in God's care Saturday, December 4, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Marion L. Hanagriff, her brother William Rowston, her parents John and Georgine Rowston, and her son-in-law Dominic Fedele. She is survived by her sister Anne Marrou of San Antonio, TX, her seven beloved children: Dale Fedele, of Charlotte, NC, Christine Smith, (Joseph) of Atlanta, GA Larry Hanagriff (Dee Dee) of Jacksonville, FL, Matthew Hanagriff, (Deann) of North Charleston, Kay Hyman, (Phillip) of North Charleston, Margueritte Jones, (Ray) of Gulf Breeze, FL and Mike Hanagriff, (Angie) of Atlanta, GA; She had nineteen grandchildren: Michelle Larson, David Fedele, Anthony Fedele, Stacia Smith, Stephen Smith, Mark Smith, Deanna Riddle, Pamela Hanagriff, Taylor Benninger, Shane Mosny, Joshua Hanagriff, Carissa Hanagriff, Lucas Hanagriff, Zo? Hyman, Jessica Jones, Edwin Jones, Brandon Hanagriff, Jonathan Hanagriff, and Matthew Hanagriff and eight great-grandchildren: Nicklas Larson, Lucas Larson, Regin Larson, Sabrina Farabee, Lauren Smith, Ansley Riddle, Walker Riddle and Trenten Jones.
Margie was a devoted mother and grandmother, always sacrificing her needs and devoting her time to her family. She lived her entire life in the Park Circle area of North Charleston and was a dedicated room mother and volunteer at St. John's Catholic Church and School. Later in life, she continued to show her love of community and others by volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels in North Charleston and giving her time to her church. Margie was an avid tennis player who enjoyed playing daily with her friends. She loved Folly Beach and also traveled the world with her sister Anne, adding to her extensive shell collection.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, December 6, 2010 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29405. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in St. John Catholic Church, 3921 St. Johns Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405. The Rite of Committal and Farewell will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margie's name may be made to St. John's Catholic Church.
