George Arthur Williams
George Arthur Williams, 74, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Margaret Russell (Rusty) Williams died Thursday, March 6, 2014. His memorial service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd, Mount Pleasant 29464 at 4:00 pm.
George was born March 21, 1939 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, son of the late George Philip Williams and Anne Elizabeth Stormer Williams. He attended the University of Houston on a swimming scholarship and was an actor in the Alley Community Theater. He started as a page at CBS and later worked in television lighting. He met and married his wife Margaret in New York. He and his family moved to Alabama where they resided for 20 years before moving to Mt. Pleasant. George's sales career was with 3M business machines and later commercial security at ADT. He was a member of the Charleston Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Margaret Russell Williams; two sons, Sean Williams and his wife Deana of Summerville, SC, Mark Aaron Williams of Hanahan, SC; mother, Anne S. Williams, sister, Bonnie Williams and her husband Roy of Sullivan's Island, SC.
