George Donald Westbury

Entered into eternal rest the afternoon of Thursday, November 04, 2010 after a courageous struggle with cancer.  George Donald "Don" Westbury, husband of Doris Wunder Westbury.  Residence, Johns Island, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Don Westbury are invited to attend the funeral service of the former Monday, November 15, 2010 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, at 2:00 p.m.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

Don was born July 26, 1951 in Charleston, SC, son of the late George Westbury and Marguerite Moorer Westbury.  He was a graduate of Trident Tech and worked in the Charleston Community in the automobile industry as a mechanic, for over forty years.  He was an avid automobile racer at Summerville Speedway and Cooper River Dragstrip. 

He is survived by his wife, Doris Wunder Westbury of Johns Island, SC; daughter, Carla Hazel and her husband, Harold and their children Joseph and Caitlin Hazel of Charleston, SC; two sons, Donald F. "Eric" Westbury and his son, Erick Westbury and Chad Nicholas Westbury and his sons, Chadwick and Elijah Westbury, all of Johns Island, SC; and two sisters, Elizabeth Firth and her husband, Kenneth of Ladson, SC and Diane Thomas and her husband, John of Seiversville, NC. 

Don was known for his gracious heart, great sense of humor and his willingness to help others.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
