George William "Billy" Walters, 73, of Charleston, SC, husband of Mildred Stroble Walters, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 12, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Charleston Baptist Church, 13 San Miguel Road at 4:00 pm. Interment, Plantation Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.
Billy was born May 12, 1940 in Sullivans Island, SC, son of the late Frank Benjamin Walters and Florence Lee Cumbee Walters. He was a retired Outside Machinist with Westvaco and was a member of the Westvaco Rescue Squad. He was a member of Charleston Baptist Church, Mariner Lodge No. 2, Sons of Confederate Veterans Secession Camp, Carpenters Union Local 159 and IAM Local 183.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Walters of Charleston; three sons, Will Walters of Illinois, Joseph William Walters of Moncks Corner, Frank Engram Walters (Audra Blaine) of Mt. Pleasant; four daughters, Belinda Lee Swearingen (Eddie) of Abingdon, IL, Florence Lucille Flicek of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ruby Brunella Hoover (Danny) of Moncks Corner, Shirley Miriam "T-Tiny" Burbage (Ronnie) of Summerville; three sisters, Shirley Clark (Matthew) of Summerville, Gloria Hayes (Jim) of James Island, and Cinder Walters of Summerville; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by a son, George William Walters, Jr.; two brothers, Frank B. Walters, Jr. and Jimmy Walters, three sisters, Ada Louise Walters, Josephine Fabian and Dorothy Driggers.
