George Robert Walker

Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 7, 2010, George Robert Walker,


husband of Mary Kimberly Walker, residence, Seabrook Island, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Walker are invited to attend the funeral services of the former at Johns Island Presbyterian Church, Friday, August 13, 2010 at ten o'clock. Burial will follow in Johns Island Presbyterian Churchyard.  Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL.


Mr. Walker was born on January 13, 1926 in New York City, New York, the son of the late Thomas George Walker and Louise Hilda Wagner Walker. He was a World War II Navy veteran and earned his BS degree in Chemical Engineering.  Mr. Walker was a retired Director of Research and Development with Glidden Paints, former Chairman of the Board for the International Fine Particle Research Institute and was a former President of the Lion's Club. 


He is survived by his wife, Mary of Seabrook Island, a daughter, Louise Clark of Memphis, TN, two sons; Russell Walker of Williamsburg, VA and Douglas Walker of Atlanta, GA; four stepchildren, N. Noble-Kiley and Kim Noble  both of Manchester, MA, Victoria Asimos of Quakertown, PA, Peter Tomkins of Norristown, PA; and four grandchildren, Lauren Walker, Kristen Walker, George Walker and Lawson Walker.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston Foundation, 676 Wando Park Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 and/or American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC  29406.
