Entered into eternal rest on the morning of June 24, 2010, George Louis Seyle, Sr., husband of Jean Nutter Seyle. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Seyle are invited to attend the funeral service of the former in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Monday, June 28, 2010, at ten o'clock. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway Sunday from six until seven-thirty o'clock where a Masonic Service will be conducted at seven o'clock. Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Foundation of SC, P. O. Box 30817, Charleston, SC 29417.
Mr. Seyle was born on May 22, 1914 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Louis William Seyle and Annie Warren Seyle. He was a retired Firefighter with the Charleston Naval Shipyard and spent 18 years with the Charleston City Fire Department as an Engineer. Mr. Seyle joined the Masons in 1939, served as an official with SC Grand Lodge and was a 33� Master Mason. He was a member of Mariner Lodge #2, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Director of Music for the Omar Shrine Band, Past Patron of Eastern Star, Past Master of Washington Masonic Lodge #5, Honorary Member of 11 Masonic Lodges and was affectionally known as "Mr. Mason".
Surviving are his wife of Charleston; sons, George Louis Seyle, Jr. of Moncks Corner, Irvin Edward Seyle of Cross, SC, Albert Leon Seyle of Florida; stepsons, William M. "Buddy" Milligan, III of Folly Beach and J. A. "Jimmy" Milligan of James Island; a sister, Lillian McKinney of Lubbock, TX; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
