George Manning Mahaffee

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of Wednesday, October 12, 2011,George Manning Mahaffee,at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church Friday, October 21, 2011 at 11:00 am with Reverend Timothy G. Shaw officiating. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.  Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel, Thursday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.  

He was born October 6, 1943, in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, the son of Joseph Walter Mahaffee and Lillian Knight Mahaffee. He was a graduate of The University of South Carolina and was a devout Christian.

Surviving are two sons: Walter Frith Mahaffee(Caroline)of Corvallis, OR and Carter Reynolds Mahaffee (Lynn) of Greer, SC; eight grandchildren: Adelaide, Hunter, Erin Shae, Ryleigh Layne, Alexis Nicole, Corri Michelle, Jenna Rose and Leah Grace; one brother: Max G. Mahaffee (Shani Diggs) of Johns Island, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church, 754 Rutledge Avenue, Charleston, SC 29403.
