George Bascom Jones

George Bascom Jones, 96, of North Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Ethel Mae Cox Jones entered into eternal rest Sunday, February 11, 2018. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 16, 2018, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 12:00 p.m.. Interment, with military honors will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Stuhr's North Area Chapel.

George was born October 6, 1921 in Conway, South Carolina, son of the late William Alford Jones and Maude Todd Jones. He was a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer serving in EOD, UDT and SWD. George was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Cold War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite, the Shriners and Holmes Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his three daughters, Runell Moyer (Richard), Carolyn Carrasquillo, Janice Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Nancy K. Ward (Tim), William Thomas Cribb, James Thibodeaux (Terry), Allen Thibodeaux, Jason Thibodeaux; 15 great grand children and four great great grand children.In addition to his wife, Ethel Mae Jones he is predeceased by his grandchildren Tammy Jo Laws and Carol Renee Cribb.
