George Green

April 15, 1938 — September 5, 2015

George Gill Green, 77, of Ladson, South Carolina, husband of Nancy Green entered into eternal rest Saturday, September 5, 2015. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 12 noon in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

George Green, retired US Army Staff Sergeant, was born April 15, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Earl Green and Julia Dennis Green. He served in the military 26 years and was a Medic in the Vietnam War. He was a cook at State of Michigan Hospital. He and his wife of 55 years, Nancy, grew up together and lived across the street from each other. In his words she was the "love of my life".

He is survived by his two daughters, Georgia A. Roellig (Jim), of Goose Creek, SC and Robin L. Scarbrough (Glen) of Utica MI; five grandchildren, Roberta S. Bourque (Josh), Trevor Scarbrough, Alexandria Roellig, Eric Roellig (Natalie), and Melinda Roellig; great-granddaughter, Dylan Scarbrough; and many nieces and nephews; brother, Kenneth Green and brother-in-law, Henry Coy of Geneva, OH; and his beloved dog, Shaggy. He was predeceased by his sisters, Yvonne Coy and Loreen Slate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston Hospice House, 4975 Lacross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406.
