George Edward Donnelly

George Edward "Pete" Donnelly, 75, husband of Pauline Callaghan Donnelly of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011.  The relatives and friends of George "Pete" Donnelly are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

 Pete was born on July 2, 1935 in Awendaw, South Carolina, son of the late Peter Roland Donnelly and Ruth Lincoln Donnelly.  He graduated from McClellanville High School and attended The Citadel.  He served in the United States Air Force and after his discharge worked as an Electronics Technician and worked with Combat Systems and Design for the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant. 

He is survived by his wife, Pauline C. Donnelly of Mt. Pleasant, SC; one Son, David C. Donnelly and his wife, Joli, of McClellanville, SC; two daughters, Debbie Patricia Wooden and her husband, Dale,  of Lexington, SC and Dawn Orvig and her husband, Terry, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; seven grandchildren, Gregory Wooden, Bekah Avery, Sarah Wooden, Sindy Marie Orvig, Eric Leif Orvig Parker Donnelly and Sully Donnelly; four great grandchildren, "Leann" Ashlyn Wooden, "Mary" Kristine Wooden, Rusty Dale "RD"  Wooden and "Wyatt" William Avery; two brothers, Paul O. Donnelly of Clewiston, FL and Stuart Donnelly of Missouri; four sisters, Emma Lenora Siederman of Virginia, Rolene Ermen of Virginia Beach, Judy G. Kessler of Honey Hill, SC and Penny Limbaker of Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland V. "RV" Donnelly and Gilbert F. Donnelly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon's International, P.O.
