George S. Copses, 79, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Funeral services will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity on Saturday, December 3 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

George, widower of Lia Manos Copses, was born in Charlotte, NC on April 1, 1932. He was the son of the late Steve and Mary Copses. A restaurateur, George began his career working by his father's side in their Charlotte diner. He made stops along the way in Charleston, Orlando, Winter Haven and Tampa before returning to Charleston in 1989.

A loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, George will be missed by all who knew him.

George is survived by his daughter, Maria, his son, Steve, son-in-law, Edward Maher, daughter-in-law, Lisa Copses and grandson, Kieran Maher all of Charleston, SC.
