George Norman Clark

George Norman Clark, 70, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Sunday, January 16, 2011, in a local hospice facility.


Born August 9, 1940 in Charleston, SC, he was one of five children of William Norman Clark and Myrtie Lee Dupree Clark.


George's career in the US Coast Guard included service during Vietnam; he retired after 20 years as a First Class Boatswain's Mate and later from the SC Ports Authority where he was a terminal supervisor.


George is survived by his three daughters: Tina M. Bradham, Beatrice P. Hintin and Rhonda Warwick; stepchildren: Joy and Michael Elmore; two sisters: Cleasie Gates and Susie Wise; brother: Robert William Clark; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessie Lee Ridgeway.


The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM.  Interment with full military honors will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Beaufort National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Tuesday, January 18, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
