George G. Campbell

George Gerald Campbell, Sr., 81, of Mt.  Pleasant, SC and husband of Eulalie Drose Campbell, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010.   The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Campbell, Sr. are invited to attend the funeral services of the former on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Two O'clock at the graveside in Wilson Cemetery, Awendaw. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Monday between six and eight o'clock.  Mr. Campbell was born, June 9, 1929 in Charleston County, son of the late John Alonza Campbell and Pawnee Lee Thames Campbell.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  He retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a marine machinist. He was of the Baptist faith.  George was a loving husband and father. He loved to hunt and fish and have his family and friends around as often as possible. 

He is survived by his wife; two sons, G. Gerald Campbell Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Fort Myers, FL and Daniel M. Campbell and his wife, Jacqui of Newnan GA;  one daughter, Cathy Bennett and her husband, Melvin of Mt. Pleasant, SC; four grandchildren, Haley Campbell, Macey Bennett, Miranda Bennett all of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Colleen Hentz of Fort Myers, FL; one sister, Betty Graham and her husband, Lyndell of Russellville, KY, two brothers, M. Eugene Campbell and his wife, Ruth  of Awendaw, SC and Kenneth L. Campbell of Mt.
