George Rolfe Bloodworth

George Rolfe Bloodworth, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Saturday, July 15, 2023. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 11:00 a.m.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the Charleston Elks Lodge, 1113 Sam Rittenburg Blvd.

George was born March 22, 1935 in San Diego, California, son of the late James Thomas Bloodworth and Earlene Harley Bloodworth. He was a graduate of Chicora High School and attended Clemson University. He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he served as the Lead Test Director. George was the Past Commodore and Life Member of the James Island Yacht Club. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge, past Exalted Ruler, Secretary, and State Secretary.

George is survived by his son,  Thomas C. Bloodworth of James Island, SC; daughters: Georgia Lyn Williams of Charleston, SC, Carol Lee Roberts of Kingstree, SC and Elizabeth Marie Bloodworth of Bonneau, SC; four grandchildren: Jesse Alan Morros, Megan Drew Morros, April Marie Owens and Alva John Roberts; and three great-grandchildren: Ira Alan Morros, Dorothy Jane Morros and Asher Clarke Owens.

George was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane Wilson Bloodworth.
