George Leland Bell

George Leland Bell, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Margaret White Bell, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 12, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 15, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

George was born March 20, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of John Wesley Bell and Annie Siegler Bell. He attended The Citadel briefly before enlisting for WWII where he served in the US Army Air Corps as a gunner. George held an undergraduate and master's degree in chemistry from USC. He was retired from Macaloy Corp where he was the department head. He was a member of The Hibernian Society and was an avid golfer. He was also a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of 60 years, Margaret, he is survived by his sister in law Elizabeth McLerran and brother in law Jeff White (Eleanor).
