Genevee Patricia Wilcox

Genevee Patricia Wright Wilcox, 89, of Isle Of Palms, South Carolina, widow of Cmdr. John David Wilcox, Sr., USN (Ret.), died Thursday, April 3, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 2:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 pm until time of service.

Genevee was born February 3, 1925 in Awendaw, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Caswell Wright and the late Annie Dell Wright . She graduated from Memminger High School and Palmer Business College. She worked as the head teller with the C & S Bank. She was also a member of the Dirty Dozen Lunch Club and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant.

She is survived by son, John David Wilcox, Jr. (Karen DuBois) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Sherrel Wilcox of Isle Of Palms, SC; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Gartley, Marilyn Gartley, Christine Gartley, Markham Gartley, Jr., John David Wilcox, III, James Wilcox, Ashton Wilcox and Logan Wilcox; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Caswell Wilcox; sister, Geneva Wright; six brothers, Silas Wright, Joe Wright, Leon Wright, Perry Wright, Duffy Wright and Herbert Wright.
