Gaynell Benton Anderson

Gaynell Benton Anderson, 74, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Jerrold Hodges Anderson entered into eternal rest Friday, October 27, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Gaynell was born November 9, 1942 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Eldon Louis Benton, Sr., and Neatha Groves Benton. She was a retired daycare director assistant. Gaynell was a member of Carolina Bay Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerrold H. Anderson; two sons, Jerrold U. Anderson (Jeannie), Richard L. Anderson (Michele); daughter, Susan Peeples (Ricky); seven sisters, Doris Hoitt, Christine Newman, Peggy Hart, Allene Cowart, Imojean Lasseter (Randy), Catherine Benton, Martha Jones (Dwayne); three brothers, Larry Benton (Peggy), John Benton (Judy), Ronnie Benton (Maureen); seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis Benton, Jr., and James Benton.
