Gayle Saunders Stroman

Gayle Saunders Stroman, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in Richmond, Virginia. Her Funeral Service will be held at the graveside Saturday, March 20, 2021 in Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Gayle was born March 20, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Carlisle McKinley Saunders and Clarentine "Setty" Wallace Saunders. She retired from the Department of the Navy in Washington, DC as a Procurement Officer.

She is survived by her two sons, Jacob Paul "Jay" Stroman IV (Maureen) of Richmond, VA; Stephen Rutledge Stroman of Evansville, IN, a grandson, Jacob Paul Stroman V (Catherine Shaw) of Richmond, VA and a brother Wallace R. Saunders of Charleston, SC.

Gayle was a devoted mother, avid bridge player, world traveler, and keen political observer. She was a master Parcheesi player who delighted in presiding over family tournaments.
