Gary Roy Nimocks

Gary Roy Nimocks, husband of Patricia Daniel Nimocks, died peacefully at home on October 5, 2026.

Gary was born in Rockford, Il. He is predeceased by his parents, Roy and Adelaide “Alice” Drewelow Nimocks.

Gary graduated from Rockford High School and Southern Illinois University. He went to work for J. Willard Marriott Food Services Operations after graduating. He worked at hospitals in several states before ending up as general manager of Health Care Food & Nutrition Services at MUSC in Charleston. His proudest accomplishment was being the recipient of the J. Willard Marriott Award of Excellence in 1991 for his leadership in feeding the employees and patients at MUSC after the devastation of Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Gary and Tricia enjoyed 28 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife, Tricia, two children, Scott Nimocks (Tara) and Amanda Tye (Justin), two stepsons, John Larisey and Daniel Larisey, 4 grandchildren, Ellie and Leah Nimocks, Boyer and Colton Tye, 4 sisters in Illinois, Nancy Boam (Bob), Diane Nimocks, Susan Bender (Jerry) and Lori Champagne (Tony) and three nieces, Kristen, Jenna and Molly. He was predeceased by his nephew, Brian Boam.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Holy Communion on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to the American. Cancer Society or the Endowment Fund of the Church of the Holy Communion.
