Garris Robert Davis

Entered into eternal rest the evening of Wednesday, September 1, 2010, Garris (Garry) Robert Davis, Jr. husband of Wendy Rucker Davis.  Residence, Cottageville, South Carolina. Funeral services for Garry will be held Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Asbury-St. James United Methodist Church at two-thirty o'clock.  Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL Saturday evening from five until seven o'clock.     In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Garris (Garry) Davis, Jr. Memorial Fund at any Enterprise Bank.

Born December 8, 1965 in Charleston, South Carolina, Garry was the son of Garris Robert Davis, Sr. and Ann Edwards.  He was a talented electrician employed by Hatcher Electric, a member of Asbury-St. James Methodist Church. He had a life-long love of hunting and was a member of Sand Hill Hunting Club.

Survivors include his wife Wendy R. Davis of Cottageville; his father: Garris R. Davis, Sr. and step-mother Patricia Infinger of Charleston: his mother: Ann Edwards of Hanahan; a son: Jimmy Dantzler Colson, Jr. of Cottageville; two daughters: Amanda Kay Rucker and Mary Elizabeth Rucker, both of Cottageville; two brothers: Philip Davis and Russ Brockman, both of Hanahan; maternal grandmother: Betty Edwards of Hanahan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Howard Edwards and his paternal grandparents: his beloved "MeMaw" Mary Davis and Clarence Earl Davis.

Garry was a true and faithful husband, loving father, and dedicated friend.
