Garrett Rockhill "Rocky" Thomas, Jr.

Garrett Rockhill "Rocky" Thomas, Jr., 71, of Moncks Corner, SC, died Thursday, May 24, 2018. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Salem Black River Presbyterian Church, Mayesville, SC (Sumter) at 2:00 pm. Interment, to follow in Salem Black River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, May 28, 2018 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Rocky was born October 5, 1946 in Sumter, SC, son of Garrett Rockhill Thomas and Margaret Elizabeth Skinner Thomas. He was a US Air Force Vietnam veteran, a graduate of Georgia Southern and was retired from Cooper River Parks and Playground. Rocky was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Charlestowne Long Rifles and South Carolina Association of Knifemakers (SCAK).

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Harmon Thomas, two sons, Garrett Rockhill "Rhett" Thomas, III (Stacey) of Goose Creek, SC and Jacob Ryan Thomas (Amie) of Moncks Corner, SC; two grandchildren, Jacob Ryan "Jake" Thomas II and Jon Carter Thomas.
