Frederick Willie Rodewoldt, Jr., 84, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Thursday, July 13, 2023. His graveside service will be held Monday, July 24, 2023, in the Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends on Monday, an hour before the service in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd.
Rick was born August 20, 1938, in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Frederick Willie Rodewoldt, Sr. and the late Meta Marie Schweers Rodewoldt. He and Paula were married on January 24, 1962, in Mt. Pleasant where they raised their two children. Rick was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant. He worked for himself at Mt. Pleasant Electric, after earning his electrician license from Murray Vocational School. He also worked for Mt. Pleasant Waterworks. He finished his career at the Charleston Navy Yard. Rick loved his family and enjoyed taking cruises with family and friends. He also loved spending time on the water, either on his boat here in Charleston, or on the lake with family on Lake Murray.
He is survived by his son Fred Rodewoldt (Susan) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Pam Taylor (Rusty) of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Kate Giannelli (Wyatt) of Moncks Corner, Will Rodewoldt (Fiancée, Ashlee Burns) of Mt. Pleasant, and Becca Taylor (Destiny) of Patuxent River, MD; and one great grandson, Riggs Giannelli of Moncks Corner. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Paula Rodewoldt.
