Frederick Willy Rodewoldt III
April 27, 1965 – October 14, 2025
Frederick “Fred” Willy Rodewoldt III, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully October 14, 2025.
Born and raised in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant, Fred’s roots ran deep in the community he loved. A lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves and the South Carolina Gamecocks, he could always be found cheering on his teams, often with friends gathered around, sharing stories, laughter, and a cold Bud Light.
Fred was happiest when coaching baseball, mentoring young players, and passing on his love for the game. He was also known for his legendary boiled peanuts—made, shared, and enjoyed by all who knew him.
Fred is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Susan Steele Rodewoldt, and his cherished son, Will Rodewoldt, and daughter-in-law Ashlee. He is also survived by his loving sister, Pam Rodewoldt Taylor and her husband Rusty, along with their daughters Kate Gianelli (Wyatt) and Becca Taylor.
Fred will be deeply missed by his extended family, including his brothers-in-law Tim Steele (Rena), with their children Megan (Chris) and Colin, and Dan Steele (Betsy), with his children April, Thomas, and Emily, as well as his four great-nieces and nephews.
Fred’s big heart, sense of humor, and love for simple joys—family, friends, baseball, and a good batch of boiled peanuts will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at The Exchange Club, 201 Palm Blvd, Isle of Palms, SC 29451, on October 17, 2025 immediately following a short service at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. at 3:00 pm. In honor of his memory, friends are encouraged to wear their favorite Braves or Gamecocks gear and raise a Bud Light to toast the man who brought so much laughter and love to every gathering.
