Frederick Newton Hiers

Frederick Newton Hiers, Jr, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Sandra Therriault Hiers entered into eternal rest Monday, January 14, 2019. The family will receive friends Friday, January 18, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Interment with a Masonic Service will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Fred was born November 27, 1929 in Columbia, South Carolina, son of the late Frederick Newton Hiers and Mary Tennant Hiers. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Hospital Corpsman Veteran. Fred was a retired salesman and was also a member of St. Andrew's Masonic Lodge # 367.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Hiers of Charleston, SC; son, Frederick Newton Hiers, III (Lisa) of Summerville, SC; daughter, Laura Beth Ellis (Rob) of Detroit, MI; grandson, Frederick James Hiers (Kristen) and great-grandson, Frederick James Hiers, Jr.
