Fred Lloyd Walters, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 16, 2017. His Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 5:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Bethel, Connecticut at a later date.
Fred was born August 14, 1922 in Jersey City, New Jersey, son of the late Lloyd B. and Ann Walters. He was a WWII USN Veteran and enjoyed a long career as a Mechanical Engineer that took him around the world. He loved the Lord and worshipped Him at Westminster Presbyterian Church. During his life, Fred enjoyed volunteering at Habitat for Humanity, fishing, golfing, music, and being with his family, many friends, and pets. We will always remember his sweet disposition and smile.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susana Comte-Walters of Charleston, SC; two sons, Frederick Lloyd Walters, Jr. (Charolette) of Glen Allen, VA, Douglas Field Walters of Denver, NC; one daughter, Jann Louise Walters of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one niece, and his extended family in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Lowe.
