Fred Shamrock

Fred Shamrock, 89, of Summerville, SC, former long time resident of Akron, and husband of Ruth Rosella White Shamrock, died Saturday, November 25, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC, 29406 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Fred was born December 13, 1927 in Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania, one of nine children of the late Thomas Shamrock and the late Sophia Wancheck Shamrock. He retired as superintendent of Goodyear Aerospace in Akron, Ohio after 36 years. Fred was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ruth Shamrock; son, Alan K. Shamrock (Kathy) of Allen, TX; daughter, Amy R. Wallace (David) of North Charleston, SC; four grandchildren: Blake Shamrock (Lisa) of Prosper, TX; Bethann Shamrock of McKinney, TX; Ryan Wallace and Dylan Wallace both of Sarasota, FL; sister, Delores Christovich (Frank) of Winston-Salem, NC; brother, Keith Shamrock (Patricia) of Grand Island, FL; two brothers-in-law, Gary White (Joyce) of Uniontown, PA, James White (Lena) of Ravenna, OH; sister-in-law, Betty Delsignore of Painesville, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association SC Chapter, 2090 Executive Hall Road, Suite 130, Charleston, SC 29407 or charity of one's choice.
