Fred Young Inman, 90, of Edisto Island, South Carolina, husband of Judith Ray Inman entered into eternal rest Monday, October 10, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 in Trinity Episcopal Church, 1589 Highway 174 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Trinity Episcopal Churchyard. Arrangements by J. Fred was born January 16, 1926 in Valdosta, Georgia. He was the son of the late John Edmund Inman and Arah Duren Inman. He was a graduate of Monteverde Academy High School and attended the University of Florida. Fred was a World War II Merchant Marine Veteran. In 1954, he was employed by Cleveland Electric as an mechanical engineer until he purchased the company and formed Inman & Associates in West Columbia, SC, as an electrical contractor, later branching into general contracting. In 1979 he formed Inman Industrial Electric in Jesup, GA, as an electrical contractor, in 1993 he partnered with Pat Evans to form Evans Steel Service in West Columbia, SC, as a steel retailer and fabricator, and in 1998 they formed Galvstar Galvanizing in West Columbia, SC, as a galvanizing plant. Fred was a former member of Trenholm Road Methodist Church and was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Edisto Island, SC.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Inman of Edisto Island, SC; son, Fred Y. Inman, Jr., of Columbia, SC; daughter, Nancy E. Inman Pierce (Dennis) of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, Kimberly L. Feeney (Jim) of Columbia, SC, Emily Inman Freiberg (Tim) of Houston, TX, Eric L. Inman of Columbia, SC, Christopher A. Pierce of Dallas, TX, and Amy L. Pierce of Indianapolis, IN; great-granddaughter, Claire E. Feeney of Columbia, SC, and many nephews and nieces.
