Franklin Barker West, 18, of Alexandria, Virginia and student at the College of Charleston, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 6, 2013. A Liturgy in Celebration of Barker's Life will be held Friday, September 13, 2013, in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Alexandria, VA at noon. Friends are invited to a reception following the service at Belle Haven Country Club, 6023 Fort Hunt Road. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 10, 2013, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Charleston, SC from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. An additional visitation will be held Thursday, September 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Everly-Wheatly Funeral Home.
Barker was born November 21, 1994 in Washington, DC, son of George Franklin West and Celeste Jones West. He was a sophomore at the College of Charleston, a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Alexandria, VA.
He is survived by his mother, Celeste Jones West of Wimauma, FL; father and step-mother, G. Frank West (Suellen) of Alexandria, VA; sister, Catalina West of Alexandria, VA; step-grandparents, William C. Barnes and Sally Nilan of Alexandria, VA; and Jones family aunts, uncles and cousins.
