Franklin Benjamin Peters, Jr. (Petey) 2/14/1938- 7/16/2025 passed away peacefully after living with Parkinson’s disease for many years. We thank his wonderful care givers: Kia, Jacque and Kaya for keeping him laughing and making his illness bearable.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Eleanor Campbell Peters (Pinki), his daughter Meredith Peters Dunnan, his son-in-law John McMillan Dunnan, and the joy of his life John McMillan Dunnan, Jr. (Mac) his only grandson. He is predeceased by his parents and his daughter, Ashley Heath Peters.

Petey was born and raised in Charleston, SC. He was a graduate of St Andrew’s High School and The Citadel. He loved sports and played baseball, football, and was a golden glove boxer at The Citadel where he had a life long love of the school and served on their foundation board and established football scholarships.

Petey was an entrepreneur. He founded many companies in High Point, NC, Mexico, and Charleston. He and Pinki built and restored many properties in North Carolina and South Carolina. Petey never met a stranger. His many friends are devoted to him as he was to them. He was kind, true to his word, and had a great joy of life.
