Franklin Delano Adkins, 79, of Hollywood, South Carolina, husband of Shirley Smith Adkins entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 11, 2013. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 in First Baptist Church of Ravenel Church Cemetery, at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Franklin was born April 3, 1934 in Logan, West Virginia, the son of Roscoe Adkins and Virginia Gayhart Adkins. He was a retired Heat Treat Operator with The Timken Company, a United States Army Veteran, and attended First Baptist Church of Ravenel.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Adkins of Hollywood; step-children, Paula (Alan) Josslyn Summerville, Michelle (Allen) Calahan of Summerville, Sally (Billy) Boyce of Thornville, OH, Pam (Charlie) Davis of Wilson, NC, Wendy Maxwell of Summerville, Donald Griffith of California, and Kelly Griffith of Ohio; sisters, Patsy Kyte of Ohio, Carol (Lank) Brag of Jenny's Creek, WV, JoAnne Bocook of Indiana, and Judy Parsons of Pomeroy, OH; brothers, Paul Adkins of Indiana, Gene Adkins of Cincinnati, OH, and Bill Adkins of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren,.
