Frankie Bennett Tucker

Frankie Bennett Tucker, 91, of James Island, entered into eternal rest on September 19, 2022, at her residence.

Frankie was born September 19, 1931, in Millwood, Georgia, daughter of the late Leonard "Frank" Bennett and Maude Gillis Bennett. She was a supervisor at the American Tobacco Company for 26 years and ended her working career at Corinthian Marble. She then went on to her greatest role as "Nanny." Frankie was strong and very determined in everything she did. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, fishing and camping.

Besides her parents Frankie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Mr. Samuel E. "Spike" Tucker; stepmother, Sadie H. Bennett-Cotton; and brothers: Donald, Jack and Charles Raymond Bennett. She is survived by her two children: Karen Tucker McGee (John) and Mr. Samuel Wayne Tucker (Tammy); her granddaughters: Jessica McGee Buergler (Andrew), Shelby Tucker Greene (Brian) and Haley Tucker Williams (Dean); two great-grandchildren: Ethan Banks Buergler and Lily Cecelia Greene; sisters: Gail Mooney (Michael) and Dorothy Sue Allday; and brother, James L. Bennett. 

The family would like to express much love and appreciation to Ms. Rose Brown, Ms. Loretta Lowrance and Ms. Vonna Deleston for the many years of in-home care they provided for our mother. We would also like to thank Emily Sharp, R.N. Care Manager.

Relatives and Friends of Frankie Bennett Tucker are invited to attend her funeral services Friday, September 23, 2022 in James Island Presbyterian Church, 1632 Fort Johnson Road at 3:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in churchyard. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
