Frank L Stennett, 85, of Charleston, SC, husband of Jo Beth Monroe Stennett, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 26, 2025. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 in Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, 2025 Bees Ferry Road at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2025 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
Frank was born August 8, 1939 in Greenwood, SC, a son of the late Leroy Blake Stennett and the late Nancy Alexander Stennett. A 1958 graduate of Greenwood High School, Frank later joined the Army as a paratrooper. He married Jo Beth Monroe on May 23, 1960 and moved to Charleston. Frank went on to work for American Sugar Company, making the bags for Domino Sugar. He then became a salesman for Cross Seed Company, retiring in 2009. Frank was a devoted member of Grace on the Ashley Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Frank always wanted to learn how to carve, so he joined a carving club and learned how to carve birds and ducks. His favorite thing to do was sit on the front porch, carving and greeting the neighbors walking their dogs. He always had a treat for the dogs that walked by. Frank would give away his carvings to friends and family, but would never sell any carvings.
Along with his wife, Jo Beth Stennett, Frank is survived by his daughters, Nancy S. Miller (David) and Debbie S. Hertel (Robert); his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by two brothers, Leonard Stennett and Larry Stennett.
