Frank Seabrook Hay, Jr., 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Frances Thompson Hay, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013. A Celebration of Frank's Life will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013, in Rodenberg Hall, Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant at 1:30 pm. Frank was born September 2, 1926 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Frank Seabrook Hay and Jane Chaplin Hay. He was the former President of Hay Oil Company.
He is survived by his wife, Frances T. Hay of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his children, Michael S. Hay, MD (Catherine) of Orangeburg, SC, Terri H. Wood (Howard) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Alan O. Hay (Nancy) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jonathan L. Hay (Teresa) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Fran H. Morton (Lane) of Lexington, NC; his step-children, Gretchen M. Penney (Thom) of Charleston, SC, Shawn M. Charlow (Kevin) of Charleston, SC, and Peter A. McKellar, IV (Teresa) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Jennifer H. Jenkins, Kristen H. Wilson, Morgan S. Hay, Tessa W. Dilley, Deanna W. Cousino, Julia H. Saylors, MD, Cameron H. Moskos, Catherine P. Hay, Mitchell H. Hay, Tanner R. Hay, Tyler H. Morton, and Ryan L. Morton; his step-grandchildren, C. Brooks Johnson, III, Frances L. Johnson, Joseph F. Charlow, III, James T. Charlow, Andrew S. McKellar, Alex S. McKellar, C. Grace McKellar, and Julia L. McKellar; his seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Dr. Lewis S. Hay of Clinton, SC; and his sister, Emmie Hay Hancock of Davidson, NC. Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Hay Wessel.
