Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of March 2, 2012, Frank Graydon, widower of Mary Louise Parler Graydon of Edisto Island, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island, 2164 Highway 174. The family will receive friends, at the church, from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service. Interment will follow at The Presbyterian Church on Edisto Island Churchyard. Arrangements by J. Mr. Graydon was born June 27, 1923 in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Sterling Graydon and Eleanor Margaret "Nell" Saunders Graydon. He was an electrical engineer and worked for IBM for 35 years. Frank was a US Army veteran who served in WW II in the Combat Infantry 11th Airborne Division and also was on active duty during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by a son, Frank Graydon, Jr. of Baldwinsville, NY; two daughters, Dr. Mary Eleanor "Mell" Schaffer of Morgantown, WV and Virginia Joyce "Ginny" Graydon of Speedsville, NY; and six grandchildren, Bryan Cameron Harris, Rebecca Margaret Schaffer, Bethany Eleanor Schaffer, Sarah Louise Schofield, Samuel Robert Schaffer, and Tucker Benjamin Graydon; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Blaine Harris and Quinn Alexandra Harris; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew Bill Davies, who was more like a brother than nephew. He also loved and was loved by many very special friends.
