Frank Bonnier Bedard, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Harriet Kaiser Bedard entered into eternal rest Tuesday, September 26, 2017. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1695 Raoul Wallenberg Blvd. at 10:30 a.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be held in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. A Rosary Service will be held Sunday, October 1, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 4:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Frank was born March 17, 1931, son of the late Frank L. Bedard and Catherine Dwyer Bedard. He was a USAF Veteran and retired Licensed Aircraft Inspector for over 50 years. Frank was awarded the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award and also inducted into the South Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame. He was a founding member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, served as an usher and participated in the Eucharistic Adoration.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Harriet Bedard; two daughters, Susan E. Bedard and Karen B Byrd (Joseph) all of Charleston, SC; two granddaughters, Kathryn B. Cellars (Matthew), and Karen Jean Byrd; two great-grandchildren, Sullivan and Harper; brother, Charles Bedard (Kim) of Easton, PA; sister, Bonnie Godzich of Clearwater, FL. He is predeceased by his brother, David A Bedard and a brother-in-law, Donald Godzich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1695 Wallenberg Boulevard, Charleston SC 29407 and/or a Charity of one's choice.
