Frank Duane Amidon, 78, of Goose Creek, S.C., loving husband of Jean Ledoux Amidon entered into eternal rest Friday, October 1, 2021. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Goose Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Red Bank Road at 2:00 pm. Burial with military honors will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S. Live Oak Dr., Moncks Corner 29461. The family will receive friends Friday, October 8, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, 29406. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing.
Frank was born October 17, 1942 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, son of Merton C. Amidon and Annette Lebranche Amidon. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years in the Navy including two tours in Vietnam. He had a second 20 year career as a General Manager for Hardee's. He continued working another eight years as a machinist before he actually retired. Frank served as a Major in the SC State Guard, was a member of American Legion Post 166 and the MacArthur Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed coaching Youth Hockey and was also a Civil War re-enactor. He was a member of Goose Creek United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Jean; daughter, Annetta Graybill (Will), of Lexington, SC and son, Ethan Amidon, of Goose Creek, SC; six grandchildren: Adam and Miranda Graybill, and Sam, Yvonne, Merlin and Damion Amidon. His siblings preceded him in death: Ruth LaRose, Darlene Martin, Larry Amidon, Richard Amidon and Eddie Ledoux.
