Francis Eugene "Gene" Ward, 85, widower of Ann Ward, of North Charleston, SC passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011. The funeral service will be Friday, November 4, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at STUHR'S MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL one hour prior to service..
Mr. Ward was born on April 5, 1926 in Whiteville, NC, son of the late Eugene Palmer Ward and Marie Harrelson Ward. He retired from IBM as an Executive and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his son, Timothy Ward of Summerville, SC; three brothers, Richard Ward of Wilmington, NC, Tucker Ward of Chadbourn, NC and Jerry Ward of Collierville, TN .and three grandchildren, He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Ward.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29405.
