Francis Joseph Mallard

November 21, 1921 — August 10, 2012

Francis Joseph Mallard, 90, of North Charleston, SC, husband of the late Mary Mallard died Friday, August 10, 2012. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at J. HENRY STUHR NORTHWOODS CHAPEL. Services will be private.

Mr. Mallard was born November 21, 1921 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Alonzo and Sadie Shriver Mallard. He was a engineer with Seaboard Coastline. Francis was a Mason with Dorchester Lodge 369, and a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII. In his free time, he loved to go fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Michele Ruotolo of Goose Creek, SC, Frances Allen of Moncks Corner, SC, and Carol Mallard of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brother, Robert (Ruth) Mallard of Charleston, SC; sister, Wilhemina Shinta of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Kositz of Summerville, SC, Stephanie (Andrew) Fajardo of Columbia, SC, Tracy Williams of Moncks Corner, SC, and Penny (John) Mindler of Goose Creek, SC. He is also survived by his four great-granchildren. Francis was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

In honor of Francis, flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Veterans Support Foundation, 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
