Francis Robert Duggins, 78, of Charleston, SC, husband of the late Georgie Ann Phillips Duggins entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 11, 2017. His memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Born July 26, 1938 in Charleston, SC, he was one of three sons of the late Albert L. Duggins and Florence Connolly Duggins. He retired with 24 years of service with the Army National Guard and also retired from Electric Supply Company after more than 40 years. While serving in Army National Guard, Francis achieved numerous awards including: The Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Active State Service Medal, and the Palmetto Service Ribbon. He was a member of the Sumter Guards, and Washington Light Infantry.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna L. Clark (Neal) of Charleston, SC; Kimberly A. Burris (Ron) of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren: Phillip F. Copeland, Logan J. (Kathy) Copeland, Kyle D. Meier, Veronica G. Burris and Keaton E. Burris; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt D. Meier, Luci Ann Marie Meier, and Dexter Meier. He was preceded in death by brothers Albert "JuJu" L. Duggins Jr., and "Bubba" Duggins.
