Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of November 26, 2011, Frances Simons Tucker, 73, widow of Ronald L. Tucker of Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, Charleston, SC at 2pm. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel, with Order of the Eastern Star services at 7:30pm.
Born October 6, 1938 in Savannah, GA she was a daughter of the late Edmond P. Simons and Margaret Mellichamp Simons Crosby. Frances was a member of Harbor Light Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Betsy Ross Chapter #189 where she was the Past Worthy Matron.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle T. Hatfield and her husband Randy of James Island, SC; her son, David L. Tucker and his wife Sandra, of James Island, SC; two sisters, Margaret Lentz of James Island, SC and Dorothy Proveaux of North Charleston, SC; a brother, Edmund P. Simons of James Island, SC ; ten grandchildren, Jessica Anctil, Nancy Perez, Warren M. David, Angela Estrada, Tina Guillermo,Tucker Nielson, Taylor Hatfield, Cortnie Shevalier, Tara Hatfield and Randy Hatfield, Jr., and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Ronald who died in 1993, Frances is preceded in death by a son, Mendy who died in 1995.
