Frances Smoak Rowland, 102, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Robert C. Rowland entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 4, 2017. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. Interment, St. Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until the service in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel.

Frances was born May 8, 1914 in Lodge , South Carolina, daughter of the late George Henry Smoak and Sadie McAlhany Smoak. She worked for the American Tobacco Company and worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard during WWII.

She is survived by her five grandchildren, Robert Dale Rowland (Pat), of Charleston, SC; Brian Rowland of Summerville, SC; Jessica Rowland of St. George, SC; Martin P Rowland, Jr., of Burleson, TX; Kevin Rowland of Burleson, TX; and eight great grand children.
