Frances Robinson Melton, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Clarence "C.D." Melton, Jr. entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 26, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden, 1 Bishop Gadsden Way at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in Meyers Hall immediately following service. Interment will be private at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Frances was born March 16, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Bernard F. Robinson and Addie Harbourt Robinson Gue and step-daughter of the late Robert Gue. She was a 1944 graduate of Memminger High School and a member of Ashley River Baptist Church. Frances was an avid golfer and a member of Ladies 9 Hole at the Charleston Country Club and a fourth generation Charlestonian.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, "C.D."; daughter, Lynda Melton Perrin (Dan) of Charleston, SC; son, Gregory DeWitt Melton (Nancy) of Huger, SC; four grandchildren: Dan Perrin, Jr. (Katy), DeWitt Melton (Katie), Robin F. Curry (James), Chris Melton (Caitlin); and three great-grandchildren.

Frances was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy R. Lowry; brother, Bernard Robinson, Jr. and aunt, Frances Walters.
