Frances Jenkins Henderson, 90, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, widow of Dan T. Henderson, Sr. entered into eternal rest Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Her memorial service will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 in the French Protestant Huguenot Church, 136 Church Street at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends and relatives at the home of her daughter on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Frances was born February 10, 1927 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Claudius Bissell Jenkins, Jr. and Jeannie Hyde Jenkins. She was a graduate of Ashley Hall and Greenbrier College. Frances was a member of the Junior League of Charleston, The Huguenot Society of SC, the Ladies Benevolent Society and The National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the State of South Carolina where she was a retired Administrator. She was also a member of First Scotts Presbyterian Church and the French Protestant Huguenot Church, where she served as a docent.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Frances Henderson Ford (Frank) of Charleston, SC; sons: Dan T. Henderson, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Thomas G. Henderson of Mount Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren: Cordes Ford, Meghan Norvell, Drue Ford, Lucas Ford and Thomas G. Henderson, Jr. and seven great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Ford, Eliza Ford, Cecilia Ford, Simon Ford, Henson Norvell, Ford Norvell and Louden Norvell.
