Frances was born May 13, 1920 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late John Thomas Robinson and Beulah May Grimball Robinson. She graduated from Memminger High School and The College of Charleston in 1941, where she was a member of the Quill Club. Frances taught briefly in St. Andrews and Moultrie Schools, but her life was devoted to her husband of 61 years and rearing her three children. She was known as a sweet and tenderhearted lady who reached out often to those in need.
Frances was also very proud of her family heritage going back generations on James Island and kept the oral history alive for her children. She provided many years of care giving for an invalid sister, then her elderly parents, mother-in-law, and husband. Frances always said it was her joy to care for others.
Frances had a deep faith and commitment to her church family, teaching Sunday school as a young mother and as a member of many prayer and Bible Study Groups. She was a long time member of Saint James Church and The Huguenot Society of SC.
Frances is survived by her children: Frances F. Egleston (David), J. Wyman Frampton, Jr. (Pauline), and John G. Frampton (Rhett); eight grandchildren: DuBose, Anne, Emily, Elizabeth, Virginia, Grimball, Kristen and Shelby; and eight great-grandchildren: DuBose, Mills, Ellie, Lillie, Ashby, Merrick, Davis and Charlie. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Wyman Frampton, Sr., two brothers and a sister.
