Frances Schwartz Feinberg

Frances Schwartz Feinberg of Charleston, SC, widow of Sam Sidney Feinberg, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Her funeral services will be held at the graveside in Emanu-El Cemetery "Maryville" Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

Frances was born January 2, 1917 in New York City, NY, the daughter of Anna and Abraham Schwartz. She graduated from Hunter College and Auburn University. She was a member of Synagogue Emanu-El. Frances lived in Opelika, AL for 50 years before moving to Charleston, where she lived for 24 years. She was active in community affairs in both cities.

She is survived by her children: Carolyn Feinberg Draisin (Dr. Neil) of Isle of Palms, SC and Dr. Dennis Feinberg (Sharon) of Charleston, SC and Joyce Feinberg Levine (Dr. Ron) of Los Angeles, CA; her grandchildren: Alison Draisin of Seattle, WA, Leslie Draisin Perilstein (Barry) of Boston, MA, David Draisin of New York, NY, Jennifer Feinberg and Lisa Feinberg both of Atlanta, GA, Aviva Levine Jacobs (Stuart) and Natania Levine of Los Angeles, CA; great granddaughter, Ellie Noa; sister, Shirley Schwartz Meyers (Jerry) of Boynton Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Elaine Schwartz of Ardsley, NY. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends, June Moon and Evelyn Engel. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Schwartz.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Synagogue Emanu-El, 5 Windsor Drive, Charleston, SC 29407.
