Frances Orvin Dawson

Frances Orvin Dawson, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Marvin A. Dawson, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015. A Celebration of Frances' Life will be held at 4:30 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road. Interment will be held privately at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 3:30 pm until the time of the service.

Frances was born December 4, 1928 in Georgetown, South Carolina, daughter of the late Edward Orvin and Pauline Munnerlin Orvin. Early in her life, she worked as a Case Worker at the Medical University of South Carolina. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping. But her number one hobby was raising her children and grandchildren. She dearly loved them.

She is survived by her children, Marvin Dawson of Mount Pleasant, SC, Michael Dawson and his wife, Jane of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tracy Dawson Zobel and her husband, Larry of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Tamra Dawson Powell and her husband, Guy of Huger, SC; her grandchildren, Drew Lacour and his wife, Meredith, Shay Lacour, Sam Powell, Kate Powell, Ellen Dawson, Amy Dawson, Michael Dawson, John Dawson, and Mary Dawson; and her two great-grandchildren.
